Penske Logistics has received certification for its transportation management methods as a logistics provider, scoring the highest rating of 1.25 at the US Environmental Protection Agency's “SmartWay” Transport Partnership Program, which denotes strong environmental performance. The move reflects the company’s expanded commitment towards the EPA’s Transport Partnership.

Penske's efforts will support SmartWay's goal to reduce up to 200,000 tons of nitrogen oxide, and 33 to 66 million metric tons of carbon dioxide per year by 2012, by enhancing the environmental performance of freight operations.
